At the end of the year...

... this website will be closed finally. Only the member area for registered users will remain online.

Actually this should have happened one year ago. But because of the high traffic in the discussion forum we put this off several times. Since the development of TVTool has stopped a long time ago, the forum is more and more often a target of spamming attacks and the costs for hosting and traffic are not insubstantiell I came to the conclusion that it's time to do the bitter step to say good bye. Bitter because there are still more than 2000 visitors daily. In 2006 more than 1 million visitors were counted.

I wish all TVTool users and all visitors of this site a Happy New Year 2007! Take care.

Graphics card database update

Database frontend

About 2.5 years ago the graphics card database was started on this homepage. The purpose was to create an easy solution to find out the TV chip used on a certain graphics card. Usually even the manufacturers can´t tell you what TV chip is used on a particular model. Up to now more than 1500 cards have been added to the database, almost all nVidia cards are covered.
To improve the handling a new frontend is available now which allows to filter the datasets depending on manufacturer, VGA or TV chip and card name. The frontend can be found out this place or in the archive. Of course you can still add your card any time!

TVTool will retire soon

At the end of the year or at the beginning of 2005 TVTool will retire. That means that the development will be stopped then, only bug fixes will be done anymore. The support, the homepage and service areas like the member area will stay active for at least 1 year. More details and a view on the future can be found at this site!

If you wondered that...

... you got a Spanish site with cracks and stuff like that when entering tvtool.com: Tonight this site was under a little attack by hackers. They changed the homepage, so that it pointed to the crack site. Also the forum was affected and therefore offline the last hours. Meanwhile the problems have been solved, and the security issues have been fixed, the forum might cause some minor troubles though. Stay tuned! :-)

Small update: TVTool 9.6.4

Version 9.6.4 fixes some bugs. So far it could happen that the TV image was interrupted for a very short moment during watching a movie for example. This was caused by a superfluous initialisation of TV mode. A complete list of bugfixes can be found in the readme. Also two new command line parameters to control the flicker filter have been added. And the monitor positioning option has been improved by adding new presets. Version 9.6.4 is now available in the download area!
